  1. Make ready 400 gm basmati rice
  2. Get 200 gm jackfruit chopped
  3. Get 2 tablespoon poppy seeds paste
  4. Prepare 1 cup yogurt

  6. Take 5 gm kesar
  7. Make ready 1/2 cup milk
  8. Make ready 2 medium sized onion boiled and pasted
  9. Get 2 tsp garlic paste
  10. Get 1 tsp turmeric
  11. Make ready Salt as required
  12. Get Vegetable oil as required
  13. Get 5 potatoes cut into 2 halves
  14. Prepare 1 tsp kewra water
  15. Make ready 1 tsp rose water
  16. Prepare 2 tablespoon ghee
  17. Make ready 4 cloves
  18. Take 4 green cardamom
  19. Make ready 1 inch cinnamon
  20. Get 100 gm khoya
  21. Take Vegetable oil as required
  22. Prepare Salt as required
  23. Prepare Sugar as required
  24. Take 2 tbsp Biriyani masala :
  25. Take 4 cloves
  26. Get 4 green cardamom
  27. Prepare 1 inch cinnamon
  28. Get 1 tsp shah jeera
  29. Prepare 1 tsp white peppercorn
  30. Prepare 5 gm nutmeg
  31. Take 5 gm mace
  32. Get Grind these in a smooth powder
Instructions to make Jackfruit Biriyani:
  1. Boil the jackfruit with some salt and turmeric.
  2. Half boil the potatoes and deep fry them in a wok. Keep it aside.
  3. Heat some oil and 1tablespoon of ghee in a wok, add the cloves, green cardamom and cinnamon, saute it for a moment
  4. Add the boiled onion paste, garlic paste, and green chilli paste.
  5. Cook it for sometime until the raw aroma dissapears.
  6. Add the jackfruit, biriyani masala and salt. Saute it again for sometime.
  7. Add the yogurt and the poppy seed paste and little amount of sugar. Saute it very well untill you notice the oil coming out from the sides.
  8. Soak the kesar in the milk in a separate container and keep it aside.
  9. Now in a large container, add some half boiled basmati rice. Add a layer of fried potatoes and the cooked jackfruit, biriyani masala, grated khoya and ghee. Repeat the process till the end.
  10. When the layering is finished, add the kesar along with the milk, rose water and kewra water.
  11. Cover the container tightly with a lid and keep it under a low flame for sometime or until the rice has been cooked completely.
  12. Remove it from the flame. Serve hot.
