The ingredients needed to make Jackfruit Biriyani:
- Make ready 400 gm basmati rice
- Get 200 gm jackfruit chopped
- Get 2 tablespoon poppy seeds paste
- Prepare 1 cup yogurt

- Take 5 gm kesar
- Make ready 1/2 cup milk
- Make ready 2 medium sized onion boiled and pasted
- Get 2 tsp garlic paste
- Get 1 tsp turmeric

- Get Vegetable oil as required
- Get 5 potatoes cut into 2 halves
- Prepare 1 tsp kewra water
- Make ready 1 tsp rose water
- Prepare 2 tablespoon ghee
- Make ready 4 cloves
- Take 4 green cardamom
- Make ready 1 inch cinnamon
- Get 100 gm khoya
- Take Vegetable oil as required
- Prepare Salt as required
- Prepare Sugar as required
- Take 2 tbsp Biriyani masala :
- Take 4 cloves
- Get 4 green cardamom
- Prepare 1 inch cinnamon
- Get 1 tsp shah jeera
- Prepare 1 tsp white peppercorn
- Prepare 5 gm nutmeg
- Take 5 gm mace
- Get Grind these in a smooth powder
Instructions to make Jackfruit Biriyani:
- Boil the jackfruit with some salt and turmeric.
- Half boil the potatoes and deep fry them in a wok. Keep it aside.
- Heat some oil and 1tablespoon of ghee in a wok, add the cloves, green cardamom and cinnamon, saute it for a moment
- Add the boiled onion paste, garlic paste, and green chilli paste.
- Cook it for sometime until the raw aroma dissapears.
- Add the jackfruit, biriyani masala and salt. Saute it again for sometime.
- Add the yogurt and the poppy seed paste and little amount of sugar. Saute it very well untill you notice the oil coming out from the sides.
- Soak the kesar in the milk in a separate container and keep it aside.
- Now in a large container, add some half boiled basmati rice. Add a layer of fried potatoes and the cooked jackfruit, biriyani masala, grated khoya and ghee. Repeat the process till the end.
- When the layering is finished, add the kesar along with the milk, rose water and kewra water.
- Cover the container tightly with a lid and keep it under a low flame for sometime or until the rice has been cooked completely.
- Remove it from the flame. Serve hot.
