- Take 1 cup fresh green peas grounded
- Prepare 1 onion paste
- Make ready 1 onion sliced
- Take 1 tomato paste
- Take 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- Make ready 3 tsp mustard oil
- Take 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Get 2 tsp coriander powder
- Make ready 2 tsp red chilli powder

- Take 1 pinch heeng/asafoetida
- Make ready to taste salt
- Get 1 teaspoon jeera/ cumin seeds

Instructions to make Hare Matar ka shorba:
- Heat oil in a pan
- Add jeera, tejpatta,heeng
- Now add sliced onion,saute till golden brown
- Now add ginger garlic paste..saute for 1 minute
- Add onion paste and tomato paste…cook for 5 minutes
- Now add turmeric powder,coriander powder and red chilli powder and cook for 5 minutes
- Now add grounded peas and salt….mix well and cook for another 10 -15 minutes
- Add green peas whole and fry on high flame for 5 minutes
- Now add 4 cups of water and bring to boil
- Cook till the peas becomes tender
- Finally add Garam masala and chopped coriander leaves and a little spring leaves if available
- Serve hot with steamed rice or roti
