Samai dosa, porridge, paddu and payasam from little millet are few traditional recipes in different millet growing states in India. Samai is known as Little millet in English, Samo chawal in Gujarati and Kutki in Hindi. Now, the biggest challenge in using millet and brown rice in idli and dosa is achieving the right texture. Once done, let the idli cool down a bit.
Instructions to make Little millet tomato dosa:
- Soak little millet rice overnight.(6-8 hrs)
- In a grinder, add soaked little millet rice and grind.
- Simultaneously,In a mixer jar,add tomato,small onion,jeera,red chilli grated coconut,asafoetida,curry leaves,fenugreek and grind in a mixer jar.
- Once little millet batter is ready,mix it with the tomato mixture and mix it well.
- Then add the little millet batter with the dosa idly batter and mix it well.
- Now place the dosa pan on the stove and add some oil and make dosa.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney.I m sure this will be one of your favourite dosa:)
Use a wet spoon to scoop them out. Serve hot with tomato chutney. millet tomato dosa , millet brownies. Smear the palm with little oil, make thick brookies and keep them on parchment paper lined baking tray. After baking, the brookies are ready to be taken out from oven. We do this instant ragi dosa at least once in a week for our Breakfast/dinner.
